Tara botches New Year's Eve countdown

Tara needs math lessonsTara rang in the New Year early Monday from Chicago's Marriott luxury hotel with a rambling countdown that left celebrants in tears of laughter. Literally.

"Here we go," the 31-year-old star of "American Pie" cried before launching her 60-second countdown that skipped 57 and jumped from 20 to 10.

During the countdown, Tara was yelling: "20, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5," she said, before correcting the countdown with "14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Happy New Year!" Hopefully she has someone else checking her credit card bills, if not, people could charge her whatever they wanted to.

The hilarious video originated on a page by actor Efren Ramirez, best known for his role as Pedro Sanchez in "Napoleon Dynamite."

Ramirez appears in the video, mouthing "What?" and laughing in disbelief as the actress skips from 20 to 10.

Tara, who has raised eyebrows in the past with her partying and a nipple-slip at P. Diddy's 35th birthday party, was billed as the hostess of the Future Forward New Year's Party at the luxury hotel on Chicago's Michigan Avenue, where tickets sold for $135 each.

She appeared to be enjoying herself in the video. She seemed to smooth over her numeral slips by calling herself just an "actress" and urging the crowd to toast the next year "thinking of love."
